Dorian Ashcroft
Dorian Ashcroft is the pen name of an author and independent game developer who writes adult fantasy for people who like their romance dangerous and their magic costly. Dorian's stories live at the crossroads of gothic atmosphere, slow-burn tension and the kind of moral choices that stay with you long after the screen goes dark.
Working as a one-person studio, Dorian writes, designs and builds each visual novel from the first line of dialogue to the final branching ending. Fogbound villages, ruined courts, forbidden bargains and the people brave (or foolish) enough to fall for the wrong ones are recurring themes.
The Craft
Every story begins with a character who wants something they should not have. From there it is a matter of pressure: of choices, consequences, and letting the player decide how much they are willing to lose. Dorian favors lush, atmospheric prose, strong ensemble casts and endings that reward replaying.
Beyond the Page
When not writing, Dorian is usually tinkering with game engines, collecting maps of places that do not exist, or hunting for the perfect cup of black tea.
